I have to say meeting up with my hold high school teachers was a bit of fun. My mate's mother was one of them, so our social circles overlapped at certain events. Was great hearing them refer to some of the students as 'so and so, that piece of shit', or burst out laughing when they found out that the scum bags of the year were on their 3rd kid working minimum wage.

Ten years later and I'm friends with a few of my old high school teachers. Possibly going to a handegg game with one of them later in the season. I also see my old high school calculus teacher and golf coach (they're married) at a lot of the car shows I go to.

If she weren't party to his poor grammar development, this would have been funnier.

Even the best teacher in the world can't do much if the student absolutely refuses to learn.

Thats an old one but a good one. Sadly, I know kids like this from my high school and I am friends with them on FB purely in hopes of stumbling upon gold like this one day.

Most of my students are pretty good...but sometimes I want to ask them "Do you even education, bro?"

When they say they are going to play ball I ask them for what college/university. They usually say something like Virginia Tech or some other big name D-1 school. Then I ask them what the scout's name is for that school. They always say "I've never met the scout." My response is if the scout doesn't know you by now, you are not playing for them, maybe a good idea to have a back-up plan.

They all think they're going to magically be discovered by a NBA/NFL/MLB coach that just happens to be walking through the local park.

Yes, Victoria, real life really does work like a "made-for-TV" movie!

Mine seem a bit better about that because some of there classmates have gone D2/D1. Unfortunately, I also have students who tell me that they're going to be "bums" and get money from the government.
